Blackberry Smartphone You Probably Don't Know About

Looks like the latest KEYone isn't the only new smartphone out there. A new handset from the Canadian smartphone maker has shown up in a couple of leaked images online. The images, shared by CrackBerry website, highlight the front and back panel of the handset. The new Blackberry device is being dubbed BBC100-1.

It's been developed by PT BB Merah Putih, a company that got the license to source, distribute and promote Blackberry-branded devices in Indonesia last year.

Unlike Blackberry KEYone, the new handset sports a full-touch screen display without any physical keyboard. There is no physical Home button visible on the front either. A camera with an LED flash is placed at the back, while the speakers are placed at the lower bottom.

The BBC100-1 is expected to have mid-range specifications. It includes a 5.5-inch HD display of 720x1280 pixel resolution and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM, as per the report. There's also 32GB of internal storage, in addition to a 3,000mAh battery.

The new smartphone is also said to support dual-SIM functionality, a first for a Blackberry device. The handset has already been certified in Indonesia, so there are chances that the company could soon make it official.

At its pre-MWC 2017 conference, Blackberry recently launched the much-awaited KEYone Android smartphone. It will be available in select regions including US and Europe starting April this year, at a price of $549 (roughly Rs 36,500). The smartphone's India launch date and availability have not been announced so far.

For those unaware, TCL Communications got exclusive licence to manufacture and sell 'Blackberry' branded smartphones last year. The company is famous for its budget TVs and also manufactures Alcatel-branded handsets.

Some of the key specifications of the KEYone include a 4.5-inch Full HD IPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, 12MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing shooter and a 3,505mAh non-removable battery.
